Lose Your Ego Gain the World
Who would think you could ‘Lose Your Ego Gain the World‘? Does Ego really play that much of a part in our lives? Marianne Williams quotes A Course in Miracles as saying that the Ego is a “Scavenger Dog”. I believe that the Ego permeates every part of our lives…. and that’s not always a good thing.
My guest Todd Lemense explains how important personal accountability is as we move through this life whether that be in work or outside of work. He also discusses how important failing is in order to learn lessons so we can use them going forward.
We discuss blessings and miracles as well as losing and difficulty.
The Ego likes to keep us trapped in the past (‘resume reading’ as Todd states) and worried about the future. When we are living in the past or the future in hour head we are disconnected, ‘separate’ so to speak. When we are in the moment we are connected to our selves, others and to God.
Wayne Dyer introduced the idea to me that when we are being ‘lived’ by our Ego (something not real but actually directing the show) we actually believe that we ARE what we have, what we do, and what other people think of us.
The danger here is that when we lose those things…. our job, our possessions, our reputation…. we are left with nothing and it’s crushing. When we allow our worth to be based on outside things, we are never going to be truly happy. We must live from the inside out and know that we are worthy and valuable now. We are a one of a kind, God’s creation. We are unlimited and amazing, just as we are.
We don’t need a title or other peoples approval to ‘make’ us acceptable or worthy. We are OK. Right Here, Right Now.
